Job Description

The EVERSANA/Iterum Therapeutics District Manager (DM) is responsible for the development and performance of all field personnel in their region for sales and efforts. This position staffs and directs their team and provides leadership towards the achievement of partner’s objectives in line with company vision and values. The DM will need to observe and identify opportunities and challenges and subsequently develop, plan, implement, and follow through with timebound action plans to positively influence opportunities and challenges within and through their team; this includes the development of team members towards corporate and individual growth, evaluation of success, optimizing the opportunity and effectively communicating results to partners and EVERSANA internal stakeholders.

Our partner, Iterum Therapeutics has developed and obtained U.S. FDA approval of ORLYNVAH™ the first and only oral penem antibiotic, approved for the treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infection(s) (uUTI) caused by certain bacteria (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, or Proteus mirabilis) in adult women who have limited or no alternative oral antibacterial treatment options. Iterum is building a world-class, high-performance commercial team that has a winning mindset to bring this important new treatment to patients and physicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams. These results are achieved by:

  • Oversee the daily in-field activity to achieve results within their region.
  • Coach, mentor, educate and develop direct and indirect team members to enhance individual selling skills and elevate overall team performance
  • Hold direct reports accountable to behaviors and expectations
  • Interview, select and supervise the activities of the department staff; communicate interpret and discuss with team the company policies and procedures.
  • Day-to-day management of Pharmaceutical Sales Representative team
  • Determine job objectives, work methods and performance standards; review performance relative to departmental objectives discussion appraisal with each employee and performance; authorize and communicate salary changes, promotions, transfers, discipline and discharge and administer all other personnel actions.
  • Maximize market, segment, and team dynamics to drive both top- and bottom-line results
  • Ensure smooth, collaborative efforts in both day-to-day and long-term business execution
  • Set tone and pace for business process and organization
  • Maintain required technical expertise to respond accurately to all questions regarding products, policies, and business-related issues from customers and representatives
  • Effectively plan and conduct plan of action and other meetings with members of the Corporate Leadership
  • Maintain complete understanding of all relevant compliance laws, policies and processes
  • Ensure actions of self and team are fully compliant
  • Provide direction and insights to key internal partners in business planning process
  • Consistently exemplify both EVERSANA and Iterum Therapeutics Cultural Beliefs and high ethical standards
  • Ability to travel domestically as necessary, which may include overnight and/or weekend travel
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent combination of skills and experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of successful pharmaceutical selling or relevant medical sales experience and 3+ years of sales management experience in the pharmaceutical industry as evidenced by historical performance rankings in previous organizations
  • Experience executing total office call in a primary care or specialty setting
  • Experience calling on Primary Care, Urology, OB/GYN, Infectious Disease strongly preferred
  • Knowledge in the antibacterial/infectious disease therapeutic area industry preferred
  • Experience leveraging knowledge and expertise to build strong relationships with HCPs, pharmacies, and other key stakeholders
  • Proven ability to understand disease states, patient profiles, and treatment pathways to articulate and routinely present clinical information
  • Proven track record of documented sales success which includes meeting or exceeding territory performance goals and achieving national levels of recognition
  • Prior experience promoting newly launched products(s), strongly preferred
  • Consultative patient-centric selling experience
  • Strong understanding of product flow through Specialty Pharmacy, strongly preferred
  • Possess strong presentation, organization, administrative and communication skills
  • Proven ability to think strategically and work with a high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Advanced business analytical skills to identify trends, opportunities and threats
  • Ability to problem solve and determine actions to drive business or overcome challenges
  • Ability to utilize corporate reporting tools and technology
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to deliver candid, effective feedback and efficiently manage performance
  • Experience in utilizing and optimizing CRM systems in support of territory dynamics
  • Ability to travel (to include overnight) as required
